Office of Economic Development

At Colorado State University, we believe that the economic development impact of a research university is measured in value added to society, not multiples of spending.  As such, our impact is maximized when we successfully deliver talent and technology to society according to society’s changing needs.

To deliver this value, we have re-engineered technology transfer to speed the flow of inventions to startups and existing companies, we have created three superclusters designed to align our world class research and teaching areas with the great global challenges of our time such that the effort will positively impact the economy of the state of Colorado.

We have created CSU-Global Campus , an online campus separate from the two main campuses, to greatly increase access to higher education for those who cannot leave their communities to earn a degree.

We have created the Office of Economic Development as part of the Vice Provost for Outreach and Strategic Partnerships to oversee process and policy development in support of this outreach, to conduct economic development research, to build community lifelong learning and innovation partnerships, and to provide hands on support for CSU technology-based and student-led startups.
